A year ago, the Chicago Bulls rolled into the playoffs. Now, they're fighting and clawing to get there.
And on Tuesday night, they showed some resolve.
Ben Gordon scored 21 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter, leading the short-handed Bulls over the New Jersey Nets 104-101 and into a tie with Philadelphia for the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot.
"This is right up there with one of our best team efforts," said Gordon, who hit 19 of 21 free throws.

Dwyane Wade would rather play anywhere else. He can't seem to get his game going in his hometown. "Just get it back to Miami," said Wade, who went to high school in suburban Oak Lawn. "Out in Chicago I never play good. I have a long career ahead of me, so one day I will get one good game in." On Saturday, he scored 13 of his 15 points on free throws and Antoine Walker added 13 points off the bench in...

The role was familiar to Ben Gordon. So was the result. The NBA's top sixth man as a rookie last season, Gordon scored 25 points to help the Chicago Bulls snapped a four-game losing streak with a 96-82 victory over the slumping New Orleans Hornets on Friday night. In his first action in two months, the All-Star forward looked rusty at times and several of his shots were blocked, but his return sparked the Pacers to a 95-85 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

With Ben Gordon and Tyson Chandler coming off the bench, the Chicago Bulls are starting to recreate their formula from last year. Luol Deng scored 20 points, Gordon added 13 of his 17 in the fourth quarter, and the Bulls rallied to beat the Boston Celtics 101-97 Sunday. "The last two games have been very similar to a lot of wins we had last year where we're not playing our best but we keep...

To Keyon Dooling, the playoffs are more than just wishful thinking. They're a realistic possibility for the Orlando Magic. "We're definitely going to try to crash in on it," Dooling said. "We've seen some crazy things happen." And Tuesday's 97-93 victory over the Chicago Bulls only strengthened his belief.
